Sava Senior Care is one of the nations largest nursing home chains. The company has its headquarters out of Atlanta, Georgia. They offer a variety of services including long-term care in at least 19 states from coast to coast. There are well over 500 locations with over 20,000 employees.
Sava Senior Care has locations with both short and long term care capabilities. With over 500 locations in over 19 states, they are one of the leaders in the industry as far as pure size. Oddly enough they only have five facilities in Georgia, yet have over 50 in Texas. Some other states that have high numbers of Sava facilities are Colorado, Illinois, Maryland, Michigan, North Carolina, Nebraska, Wisconsin and Wyoming.
Large nursing home chains are not known for their high inspection ratings and Sava Senior Care does not disappoint. A random look at 6 of their 58 facilities in Texas should 5 with below average scores, although 1 facility did have an above average rating. A look at a random 6 facilities in Colorado brought similar results with 4 having below average ratings and two having average or above average ratings.
Services Provided To Patients
Although they are known for their long-term care facilities, they also provide other health services as well. They offer:
- Bariatric Care
- Dementia Services
- Intravenous Therapy
Sava Senior Care is used to being in court due to the many lawsuits it has been entangled with over the years. Just recently in Tennessee yet another multi-million dollar suit was file din July 2012 for their role in a residents death back in March. This is just a recent addition to the many lawsuits Save Senior Care has faced, including a class action suit back in 2009 with thousands of claims at 27 facilities in Colorado.
