Here’s a suggestion for nursing home owners, who wish to ensure the safety and privacy of their patients— take your employee’s cell phones away from them. While ‘on the job’ there is no use for them other than a source of distraction and an invasion of privacy.

The most recent situation involving inappropriate use of a cell phone comes from Kentucky. A CNA at Dawson Pointe Nursing Home was indicted by a grand jury on charges of video voyeurism and adult abuse following two episodes where she took videos of a naked resident. State officials cited Dawson Point for improper cell phone use earlier this year.

Why on earth do facilities allow CNA’s and other nursing home workers to carry personal cell phones in the first place?
